Here's a guy I know that made his own video. His name is Sean Quigley from Oasis Church. Surprisingly, he's not in CreComm or any other college. Super talented - I'm impressed.

YouTube; the Phenomena

YouTube is so big, it's the biggest video sharing community in the world, not that surprising. But, over 60 days YouTube uploads more video than the 3 biggest TV networks have made over the last 60 years, a little more surprising.

YouTube started out in 2005 and it was originally going to be a dating site with the tag line, "Tune In and Hook Up." (bad idea)

YouTube enabled the trend of people "Rickrolling" their friends. If you don't know what Rickrolling is, please click here.

A lot of people go to YouTube. The last stat in February said 490 million unique visitors per month, equaling 92 billion page views per month. 

And that doesn't even count views of embedded videos like this one. It shows you how to be a YouTube star. It's kinda funny.

Valentine's Day - Warm Facts

According to a recent poll of Americans' views of various industries, advertisers are no longer at the bottom (yay! my future career), the oil and gas industry is now at the bottom - ha ha, they have gas.

Canada is the tenth most frequent trafficker on Facebook, behind Turkey - mmm.. turkey.

What's the next biggest search engine, behind the mammoth Google? Well, oddly enough, it's actually YouTube. It even surpasses Yahoo, Bing & Ask.com - Side note: Bieber was also the most watched vid on YouTube...

You Never Know Until You Try

Who knew Justin Bieber would be good? He started out posting videos on Youtube.

Youtube's official Year in Review says that Bieber's video "Baby" ft. Ludacris was the year's most watched video. It has 415 million views right now - Canada's population is just over 34 million.

But let's give homage to what SHOULD have won - this guy, lip synching with the real 50 cent - hilarious! 

50 comes in at about 1:25 and actually raps with this kid. His name is Keenan Cahill - he's got his own channel on Youtube, and some of the stuff is pretty funny.

This video had 14 million views - you never know until you try.

I wonder how they know each other? Neighbours? Homies?

The internet is massive and scary to surf, it's like an information tidal wave, and you don't want to drown - this site helps a lot: StumbleUpon.com

You check off your interests, like: arts, comedy, technology... then click "Stumble" and it automatically brings you to articles and videos you would like.

I was skeptical about this, but it was pretty good. I checked off comedy, humor, and arts, and it brought me to funny comics by the Oatmeal and hilarious sports bloopers on YouTube. The site is made by Google, so it brings you to some YouTube videos, but only the good ones - it doesn't waste your time.
