Work Placement - Habitat for Humanity

In our last year of Red River College, we do work placements related to communications. I got the privilege to work at Habitat for Humanity.

First of all, it was great.

It was a fantastic opportunity, as I got to help plan their FIRST EVER online campaign to individuals of Winnipeg.

In the past, mostly all of their fundraising has come from corporate businesses, the government, and events (oh and of course the ReStore - they sell donated building goods for cheap!). But now they want to encourage more individuals to donate to Habitat. (Just like individuals give to Siloam Mission or Cancer Care.)

I can't tell you too much because it's not even launched yet! It goes live in March though. You'll see it on buses, billboards, and online. I can give you a hint though: Better Winnipeg.

Ps. The biggest thing I learned about Habitat is:

They don't give homes away - low-income families buy them!

(Your donation buys the land and builds a home)
